A south-facing roof terrace over an extension to a listed building. Nothing is square and nothing can be attached to the old structure. The whole deck is built on a pedestal system with aluminium rails to keep the weight down.

Porcelain tiles and composite boards laid at an angle disguise the irregular shape. The deck boards are a mid-tone, bespoke smooth finish. They are lovely and soft to walk on barefoot. Lightweight planters are in view from the adjoining bedroom.

The shed, made from recycled hardwood has a sedum roof that maximises the planting area and encourages biodiversity.
