Eel Pie Island: historic location

Crafting this 36m² space required precision work around an existing Millboard deck.

The small garden now features bespoke, curved rust-finish GRP cladding on a raised planter and the boundary wall. The curve mirrors the unique architecture of these houses and tricks the eye to make the small footprint feel bigger. Smooth porcelain tiles contrast with textured clay pavers. Both planting beds have been designed so the plants are always visible from the living area.

Cutting into the existing composite deck without compromising the structure was nerve-wracking but skilfully done.
