It was a real logistical challenge, being on an island and only accessible on foot. Tons of material had to be transferred across the steep footbridge.

We created several garden zones to enjoy, a huge, secluded fire pit area with bespoke bench seating, a pebble and slab path around the whole garden, a unique translucent fence, a lawn and lots of soft grassy planting to shield the house from viewers across the river.

The translucent fence is a one-off. It allows light into the garden along the west side where it would otherwise be dark and there's a constant play of shadows as people walk along the path beyond.
